More fun with Daddy outside!

Fun in my lady bug "pool".

Fun with Daddy outside!

Daddy didn't have to work today!! I got to spend all day playing with him! He even filled up my lady bug with water and I got to play in it and show him how much I like playing in the water. We also played with Lily some, but she kept trying to drink my pool water, until Daddy started splashing her. (She really doesn't like getting sprayed with water, silly doggy.)

Here I am, in my cute patriotic suit, hanging out with Daddy and having a great time!

My first set of wheels...

...well, not really. But it was sure fun to pretend! Mommy and I went to a friend's birthday party last night, and I got to play with this really cool car. I climbed in (backwards the first time, so Mommy had to help me a bit) and thought that I sure do look good!

I never really figured out how to turn it on, or get it moving, but it was sure fun to sit in!

Such a pretty picture

Yesterday, Mommy decided to let me trying coloring again, since I kept trying to draw on her paper, with her pencil. I had a good time coloring, but I didn't want Mommy to help me. I'm a big girl and I can do things on my own. (Well, sorta. But I'm sure going to try!) Somehow, I ended up with crayon all over my face!

I sure am cute, even with a messy face. And yes, I was using a purple crayon!

I think that I made a respectable work of art, for my age and understanding. Mommy thought so to, so she hung it on the fridge, and then took a picture of it hanging on the fridge. Daddy thought that Mommy was crazy, but she wanted to document my first artwork on the fridge!

Then I got to play with Daddy on the couch. I really like playing with Daddy. (Mommy says I'm starting to be quite the Daddy's girl!)

And yes, I'm super sweet!

I made Mommy cry!

Yes, Mommy got a bit choked up the other morning, when I left behind the last bit of babyhood...I quit nursing. It wasn't so mach that I quit, because Mommy had been thinking about stopping anyway, but it was the way it happened.

Mommy had weaned me slowly the last month or so, and I was only nursing first thing in the morning, and then eating some solids too. (Mommy and Daddy say I eat like a teenage boy!!) On Thursday morning, Mommy and I sat down and started nursing, and Daddy came in and sat on the couch and started eating his bagel. (Which he had just started sharing with me this week.)

Well, I decided that I wanted some of Daddy's bagel, so I stopped nursing, climbed down out of Mommy's lap, walked across the room, crawled up on the couch next to Daddy and gave him my best grin! That was all it took. Daddy shared his bagel with me, and he thought I was so cute. Mommy tried to get me to come back to her and finish, but I didn't want to, I was having breakfast with my Daddy!

So, Mommy felt a bit rejected, and that's when she got a little choked up. But she got over it, and now I am officially a big girl. I no longer nurse or use a bottle. I drink from a sippy cup and eat table food, lots of table food. I'm growing fast and one of these days, I may even decide to get a few teeth!

So silly

Tonight while Mommy was trying to fix dinner, I decided I would help her! So I climbed up into my cabinet to find everything I would need, except that I had to pull out most of what was in there in order to get in myself!!

I'm so silly!
And don't you like my bracelet?? I almost always have a least one "bracelet" on while I'm playing. Usually I use a few of the cookie cutters that Mommy lets me play with, but when Daddy is home, he lets me use his watch!!! (Daddy is such a softy. I have him all wrapped up already!!)

Fun in the sun

Mommy set up my pool again, so I got to play in the water. I was afraid at first, and I didn't like the fact that the water was warmer than my bath water! Mommy used the hose to run some cool water in, and I got to play with the hose water; that was fun! Once I was finally in the pool, with comfortable water, I had a really good time.

And don't I look super cute in my hat!!

After awhile, I started getting a little hot, so Mommy poured some water over my head! I really liked that. It cooled me off, and I think it is funny when water gets poured over me! Plus, once my hair was wet, Mommy was able to make the back (which is growing nicely) curl a little bit!!!

What do you think of my curl?

I'm a little tea pot!

Mommy and I went to the toy store and picked out this tea set as my gift from Gigi, my Great Grandma Wester. It has lots of different pieces that I can play with, and in a year or two I can have lots of tea parties with my friends!

The tea pot is really fun...it makes noise every time you move it, and it plays "I'm a little tea pot" when you pour it!

Spaghetti...take 2

Mommy gave me spaghetti again, and this time, I had a lot more fun with it, and made a much bigger mess! I like spaghetti...can we have it every night?

I'm such an angel!!!

(I was quickly put into the tub by Daddy, while Mommy cleaned up my highchair. I'd say I did pretty good, considering I didn't even put any on the floor for Lily!)

Crayons!

Ummm...why am I in my highchair? It isn't time to eat yet.

Oh, crayons. Yeah, some nice lady at church this morning was trying to help me understand crayons. (I moved up to the Ones' class, instead of the infant room today. They do lots of different and fun stuff in there.) I still don't think I know what it is that I am supposed to do with these funny little things. (Not eat them, Mommy said, a few times.)

I think it is more fun to pull the crayon out and play with it by itself!

A note from Mommy: Yes, Savannah moved to a new class at church, and she now has a Sunday School lesson and brings home a coloring page. It is an adjustment for all of us (Savannah isn't used to the new people who help in her new room and stranger anxiety continues), as it is just one more sign that she is no longer a baby. My little girl is growing up!

Happy 4th of July!!!

So I'm still not sure why yesterday was a special day. I sure don't remember Mommy and Daddy making a big deal about it last year. (Oh, we had just gotten home from the hospital and Mommy just wanted to sleep as much as she could, maybe that is why.)

Anyways, Daddy had to work, so Mommy and I just hung out at home most of the day. When Daddy got home, we went to my friend Ava's house for dinner. I got to wear my shirt that Mommy had been saving for a while, and I wore the stylish shoes I got from Nana!

Mommy was trying to get a picture of me in my outfit, but once again, I didn't want to be still.

I guess I had a good 4th. I didn't really notice it being all that different of a day, except that someone was making some loud noise when I was trying to go to bed. But I was too tired to really notice. Daddy said that next year we are going to watch fireworks. I'm not sure what they are, but Daddy sure seemed excited, so I better be too!

I'm officially 1!!

Yes, it is official. I have been around for a whole year! I'm no longer a baby, I'm a toddler, or as Mommy likes to call me, a big girl. Since I'm such a big girl, Mommy decided it was time to start charting my height on the growth chart she hung up in my room. I wasn't terribly cooperative, because I didn't want to stand still, nor did I want to stand in the corner.
I wanted to go read my books! Which is exactly what I did.

I like books!
I even have a few lady bug books, to match my lady bug outfit!

Then for dinner, we went to one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite restaurants in the town they lived in before I came along. Grandma and Grandpa came with, and Nana and Papa met us there. After I was done eating, I got to walk around the restaurant for a little while. Then the waitresses came and sang "Happy Birthday" to me, and gave me some ice cream! Mommy let me have some of it, but it was too cold for me, so she and Daddy ate it.

Snuggles with Grandma

Grandma was trying to take a nap on the couch, but I thought it would be fun to try and climb up with her. So she didn't get a nap, but she did get a few snuggles with me, which are hard to come by since I'm on the go all the time.

We were playing Peekaboo (my favorite game) with the blanket and I thought that it was so much fun!

I am also learning how to pet Lily. I guess I'm still not doing it quite right, because Mommy tells me to be gentle every time. But I'm learning, and Lily is getting a little more comfortable with me I think.

Mommy finally caught it on video!

I was playing with the balloons left over from my party, and I discovered a new, very fun game. I put a toy on the couch. I climb onto the couch and push the toy onto the floor, and then I climb down. I then repeat this many times! It is a very fun game, and I have become very good at getting on and off the couch all by myself!

And check out the very end...watch for the feet to appear on the left side of the screen, and then my reaction when I notice who is there!
